Casual on call for Respite work in May and August

Hi, we are searching for a staff member or two for casual fill-in work at our home for when we go on respite breaks.

It may either be daytimes 9-4 (any day required) with 1-2 other support workers.

24 hour overnight shifts - 9am one day till 9am the next day (you do get to sleep!) - ALWAYS with one other highly qualified staff member.

We have two staff on simply so that no one gets stressed, but also as the boys can be hard to get to bed at times and keep there!!

Work is looking after 4 boys who have ASD/I.D/ADHD and some other issues. Ages are 20/18/16/13 (most are delayed so not like their actual ages.)

Children are reasonably well behaved in the home, they do need constant supervision though and amusement non-stop, otherwise they tend to fight each other to feed the sensory needs!

Position will involve cooking, supervision, prompting for showers/teeth etc, some personal assistance like teeth brushing, hair washing for younger one, tidying house, and caring for 7 (yes seven!!) cats - the boys assist with care but need help with feeding and trays.

Reliable staff essential, fun-loving staff too with a happy disposition and able to let comments roll of them (as the older child can say some inappropriate things at times!).

Wages are paid at $25- $30 per hour depending on experience. For overnights its a flat rate of $400 for the 24 hours.

Super and workers comp are paid also where applicable.

The position is SOR near Canning Vale.

Prior experience with autism is a must.

Police clearance is a must (must have recent one now).

Working with childrens card - current needed due to May dates.
