Come fishing with us
Why do over 700,000 Western Australians participate in recreational fishing each year?
Probably because it’s fun, physical, takes in the wonderful outdoor environment and can often provide a healthy meal!
Having a disability shouldn’t be a barrier to being able to enjoy this opportunity. There are a variety of ways to become involved in fishing, depending on how serious you would like your fishing experience to be. You may enjoy participating in one of the Association’s programs, either from the shore or aboard our wheel chair accessible vessel the Nev Thomas moored at the Royal Perth Yacht Club or the Mandurah Offshore Fishing & Sailing Club vessel, the “Mistral”.
You may prefer to join us at any of our weekly jetty, shore or boat activities. It is provided at no cost and is fully supported by Fishability. Just access the Fishability calendar in your region and contact the coordinator to discuss the opportunity for you to participate at an upcoming activity.
Perhaps you would prefer to find an accessible fishing location using our “Fishability Map” and head off fishing with family or friends.
Once you’re “hooked” on fishing you might want to join a local fishing group or club; or maybe even get a group together and start your own! We can help you to connect with your local Fishing Club with the support of industry partner, Recfishwest http://recfishwest.org.au/
