YOD Support and Social Network

We have established this group to encourage and facilitate a community of care and support for carers and their loved ones living with younger onset dementia; so that we can lean on each other in times of need and are able to ask for help, offer help and receive help when needed. Also, that we can initiate opportunities to socialise and enjoy each other’s company. For example:

• Establish a Memory Café for regular meetup – can be one or more locations to suit
• Schedule short or day trips away such as Rotto, Donnelly River, Margaret River, Swan Valley
• A range of social events: walks, movies, dinner, BBQ etc – we can take turns at organising a monthly get-together
• Random invites – take the dog(s) to the dog beach and have picnic at Mullalloo or have a meal from the food truck at Iluka
• Seek help when we need it – gardening, housework, person minding if we have appointments or simply need time out
• Someone to reach out to when we are having a bad day
• Post tips and useful information, workshops and events

All members are free to post events, share information and make comments
